The End of Days Party, Part III

It's never too early to start thinking about the menu for your End of the Mayan Calendar Party.  After all, whatever food you serve will need to last well into the apocalypse.  So you better choose correctly.  And in an effort to help make the right menu decisions, allow me to provide you with a few simple tips.

  • If it comes in a can, stock up!  Just be sure to avoid the cans that feature images of cats, dogs, or dolphins - that's not people food...
  • Honey is always a great thing to have on hand.  Not only is it a great source of calories and a natural sweetener for all that bitter post-apocalyptic food you'll be eating.  But it can also be converted into mead!  And we all know how much a tankard of mead will help after the world ends...
  • Like cheese?  Well, it's best to buy "cheese foods" rather than traditional cheeses.  "Cheese foods" are rarely made up of very much actual cheese, so they are sure to last longer than that wheel of Parmesan.
  • Stock up on Twinkies, fruitcakes, and Marshmallow Peeps - they last forever, and you'll never have to worry about someone pigging out on your supply because they actually want to eat them...
